MAKING IT IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FREE COURSE
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Minehead EYE , working closely with Super act! And with funding from Youth Music , are pleased to announce their FREE ‘Making it in the Music Industry’ Course !!

Starting on February 6th 5pm - 7pm ,  the course will open to 12 - 18 year olds , and will be a great opportunity to get a unique insight into how the Music Industry really works. The programme will have a basic outline of exploring music through activity, live instrument tuition, creating your own rhythms and composing music, and will be split into 3 phases.

The first section will focus on writing and musicianship. Working with professional musicians and a volunteer mentor , participants will be given tuition and guidance on how to form , create and develop songs, and encouraged to perhaps use different ideas and methods to what they are use to.

The recording phase includes working in the recording studio, creating CD artwork, learning the production process by doing it. It will be run by the EYE using their facility and will be a schedule of recording and artwork development sessions. The final result will be the finished CD.

The last phase will be the planning/scheduling of, and the running of a tour in the regions venues. The young people will contribute fully to this learning what is involved in setting up a tour. They will create the poster and help with tour pro-motion as well. The finale of the tour phase will be a more high profile performance outside the area hopefully in an urban area. This is the icing on the cake if you like, and the performances will have been rehearsed and polished by the regional tour.

Anyone wanting to take part in the course should ring Joe on 01643 703155 or email joeheley@minehead-eye.co.uk
